Breadminster County Council’s First Vinyl Release
Bebé Durmiendo Cumbia // by Elijah Minnelli
This will be the first official Elijah Minnelli release. The song and A-Side “Bebé Durmiendo Cumbia” (Sleeping Baby Cumbia) is a melancholic yet lighthearted UK interpretation of the South American cumbia genre. The track intertwines a plodding but solid rhythm section with enchanting faux-accordion melodies and falsetto nonsense vocals. Elijah’s strong reggae influence along side the yearning for experimentation and musical variety shine through in this release. The B-side is a traditional if not slightly psychedelic fully live dub take of the A-side, also performed by Elijah himself.
The track has already gained support from some heavy weights within the music industry.
Fatboy Slim: “I love it for the quieter more thoughtful moments”
Andrew Waetherall: “Diggin the Dub”
Laurent Garnier: “Excellent”
DJ Yoda: “Extremely Dope”
The track itself received it’s radio debut on Laurent Garnier’s international and critically acclaimed radio show “WHAT’S NEXT?!” Broadcast via Radio Meuh, Euro Radio, I Have A Dream, and Worldwide Fm. It is being supported widely by Soho Radio & Worlwide Fm.
